The medical degrees Master of Surgery (M.S.) and Master of Medicine (M.D.) are both recognized. Following MBBS graduation, students pursue a three-year postgraduate degree. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) administers the NEET-PG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance test Post Graduate) medical entrance exams, which students must take in order to be admitted to the MD/MS program. The MD/MS is a well-known degree for students pursuing postgraduate degrees in the medical field.

Exam NEET-PG

Admission to postgraduate medical programs such as MD/MS, PG Diploma, post-MBBS DNB, and NBE Diploma programs can be obtained through the NEET-PG program. A single-window exam is being held by the National Board of Examinations. The NEET-PG is conducted once a year. Generally, it happens in January.

In order to gain admission to either private or public medical colleges, candidates must sit for and pass the NEET-PG exam. All the same, the NEET-PG results are not accepted for admission to post-graduate programs at AIIMS Chandigarh and JIPMER Pondicherry.

Every year, a large number of candidates appear for the NEET-PG entrance exam. However, more than 500 medical colleges are involved in this process. NEET-PG is a computer-based exam. It consists of 200 questions. Three hours and thirty minutes are allotted for the test. This test is also required of foreign nationals who want to be admitted to an Indian medical college’s MD/MS program.

MD stands for “Doctor of Medicine.”

Three years pass during the MD program. Three years of clinical training in the medical field are required. Pupils will learn how to provide medical care or how to treat illnesses with medication alone. There is no need for surgery.

Master of Surgery, or MS

There is a three-year training program in surgery as well. Students will get specific instruction in surgical patient care. Applications for MD MS courses are open to students who have finished their internship and earned their MBBS from an accredited university. Whether you obtained your bachelor’s degree in India or overseas, you must pass the NEET-PG exam in order to be eligible for PG admission in medicine in India.

NBE: What is it?

NBE stands for National Board of Examinations. In the year 197, the Indian government founded it. The goal of this organization’s founding was to elevate medical research to the level of modern medicine. All the same, NBE aims to conduct the best possible postgraduate medical exams. For its exams, the NBE exclusively uses online testing.

The National Board of Examination is under the jurisdiction of the India Program Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The most recent NBE news states that the MD, MS, and DNB exams should all be taken nationwide in one exam.

Concerning MD MS Courses & Admission

MD MS specialized courses are offered to medical students by many colleges and universities. Currently, admission to MD and MS programmes is offered by more than 70 Indian medical institutions. Three years are needed for the courses. If you want to progress your career, you should pursue post-graduation in a particular field, such as an MS in general surgery or an MD in general medicine.
